Bitrate information shows how many bits of information are transferred per second. Bitrates are always measuring in bits per seconds and in the most cases we can find their multiplied values, such as Kilobits, Megabits, Gigabits. Talking about mp3 file’s bitrate, there exist two possible bitrate situations: constant (CBR) and variable bitrate (VBR). Constant bitrate has the one for all mpeg frames bit transfer speed, in the case of VBR the bitrate of each mpeg audio frame could be different, and the encoding mp3 software defines what bitrate will be accordingly to the user preferences. The user selects the maximum and the minimum of the bitrate values or selects average bitrate, and the mp3 software will encode using these values.
